About Flowzoom

Our Story

It started with a problem our founder couldn't ignore.

In 2017, Florian and his wife Ildiko set off on a trip around the world — traveling overland by public transport, crossing continents, exploring places most people only dream of visiting. It was the adventure of a lifetime. But somewhere between the overnight buses, the long-haul flights, and the endless hours in transit, exhaustion started winning. They couldn't sleep. Their necks ached. And no matter which travel pillow they tried along the way, none of them actually worked — too bulky, too stiff, or just the wrong shape for how real people sit.

That frustration turned into a question: why hasn't anyone fixed this properly? And that question turned into FLOWZOOM.

Back home, Florian started working. He spoke to ergonomics experts. He listened obsessively to what other travelers were complaining about. A year later, in 2018, FLOWZOOM launched its first travel pillow — and the response confirmed what he had suspected: we weren't the only ones who needed this.

From the very beginning, FLOWZOOM has been a family business in the truest sense — and it still is. As the brand grew, so did the team around it: a small, passionate group of people who each brought something personal to the table. That spirit of care and shared ownership hasn't changed. It's actually what drives us.

Our mission is simple: to make the journey as good as the destination. Because we believe that when you travel comfortably, you arrive better — more rested, more open, more present for everything waiting for you at the other end.

Taking Responsibility

We're a small brand, and we're honest about that. We don't have a large-scale sustainability program with a dedicated team and a glossy annual report — not yet. But we do believe that every business decision is also a values decision. And we try to make ours responsibly.

Our approach is guided by three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that we feel most directly connected to.

SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production

In e-commerce, returned goods are one of the industry’s worst-kept sustainability problems — products shipped, shipped back, and often discarded. We actively work against that.

Generally we design products to last, because a product you keep is one that doesn’t end up in landfill. And we continuously work to reduce plastic in our packaging in favour of more sustainable alternatives. We make an effort to provide as much information about size and fit as possible in our listings to help customers make the right choice online and offer individual consultations if necessary.

If despite all our efforts a customer still isn’t satisfied with their products, our first move is always to reach out personally, understand the issue, and find a custom solution — whether that means a replacement or replacement part, a price adjustment, or something else entirely. Less waste, more trust.

SDG 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth

We believe that how you treat the people inside your business reflects your values just as much as what you sell. Our team works fully remotely, with complete flexibility over their schedules, because we trust people to do their best work on their own terms. We invest in their growth, support learning, and try to build an environment where people genuinely want to be.

SDG 5 — Gender Equality

Equality isn’t a policy for us — it’s just how we operate. Our team is diverse across gender, nationality, and background, and we’re committed to keeping it that way as we grow. Our flexible setup allows our employees to manage work and family without having to sacrifice opportunities.

The Team

FLOWZOOM is run by a small, fully remote team of passionate travel enthusiasts spread across Europe and Asia — from Germany to the Philippines. We work across time zones, across cultures, and across very different daily routines. And we think that makes us better at what we do. When your team experiences the world the way your customers do, it shows in the product.

Our team works remotely from around the globe

We don't have a head office. We don't have core working hours. What we have is a shared belief in doing great work and the freedom to do it on your own terms. Every member of the team sets their own schedule, works from wherever they are, and organises their day around when they feel most productive.

At the same time, we're genuinely curious people who like staying ahead. We actively embrace new technology, keep a close eye on developments in AI and e-commerce tools, and encourage everyone on the team to keep learning — through conferences, webinars, seminars, or whatever format makes sense.

When it comes to who belongs here, our philosophy is simple: same mindset, different skills. We can teach almost anything — tools, platforms, processes. What we can't teach is the attitude: care, curiosity, and a genuine investment in building something worth building. That's what everyone on this team has in common, even when everything else about them is different.
